Hand-Painted Baby Rocking Chair

This week's project is a hand-painted miniature rocking chair. Our good friends Scott and Becca are expecting a new little wee one, and we figure she will need somewhere to sit. Perhaps she'll sip some tea and read some Virginia Woolf or Jane Austen in her little baby reading glasses. Perhaps she'll do some knitting, or climb a mountain, or build a zero-emission, mixed income flat in England. Perhaps.

Miles is responsible for the base paint and clear wax.
Julianne added a teddy bear and hearts with artistic abandon.

And finally, a MUFFIN IN A TUB...

Happy Holidays!
With love,
Miles & Julianne

Upcycled Coat Rack

Materials:
  1. Salvaged Wooden Post from Black Dog Salvage:  $20
  2. Decorative Hooks (4):                                        $12
  3. L-Brackets (4):                                                    $4

We've been contemplated a coat rack for our entryway for a little while now. I came across this beautiful wooden post at Black Dog Salvage, and I knew that the time had come...

I had some wood for the base and Annie Sloan Chalk Paint left over from previous projects, which was swell.

Here are some pictures:

 L-Brackets for the Base.

Annie Sloan White Paint for the Wooden Post

Annie Sloan 'Paris Grey' for the base w/ dark wax for some texture

And here's a video of Daisy playing with a rock, because...

We hope you enjoyed this first installment of The Daisy Project.
